So, we’ve always been looking at the best way of creating a fully AV show for 3D Disco with all the flexibility that have at the minute, we’ve got a pair of DVJ’s (DVD encoding strips too much colour and quality out to get a good 3D effect) and the various digtial dj solutions with video (Serato - vid quality too low, Virtual DJ, software not robust enough) but finally have the solution through Max for Live. We mainly use Ableton Live for audio and Modul8 for the visual side of thing, both solid performers and great for what we do, but now we’ve written a patch in Max for Live which links the two together, sending OSC signals from Live across to Modul8, keeping the visual element in sync with the Audio, even when chopping it up etc. Seems totally solid, debuted it at the Videocrash gig we did at Kentish Town forum recently and using it for all the Swiss gigs we have at the minute. All very positive and finally we’ve managed to technically do what we’ve wanted for ages!

Few more things to sort out on it, but exciting times!
